Microcurrent Therapy for Inflammation/Pain

If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.

What is Frequency Specific (FSM) Micro-current?

Microcurrent is an FDA approved treatment for pain and inflammation. FSM increases ATP production by 500% and has been shown to improve inflammation as much as 62% in 4 minutes.

Microcurrent (FSM) is the application of micro-amperage currents that have positive effects on injured parts of the body. It also helps injured tissue/bone heal faster and provides relief from pain caused by injury or chronic conditions. Injuries cause a disruption of communications between cells. FSM helps to restore your electromagnetic field back to normal, thus allowing your injured cells to repair themselves. This process helps to initiate and perpetuate the many biochemical reactions that occur in healing. Works well with manual therapy sessions such as massage, physical therapy and chiropractic.

Why Frequency Specific (FSM)

Specific frequencies seem to induce specific effects on cells and other tissues that resonate with those frequencies. For example, there is a specific frequency for nerves, a different frequency for muscles, another for tendons, etc.

The “frequency specific” aspects of the treatment is as important as the microcurrent itself, thereby positively impacting cells, muscles, tendons, and nearly every tissue in your body, depending on the settings. In addition to each tissue having its own conditions such as scars, inflammation, connective tissue issues, etc., the  microcurrent system runs through any number of custom-tailored programs.

FSM offers exciting promise in working with tissues unresponsive to conventional efforts such as nerve pain, damage or injury, scar tissue, adhesions, and the ability to facilitate healing of acute and chronic injuries. Evidence has shown that it is a useful supportive treatment as part of a comprehensive treatment for chronic conditions like Lyme Disease, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and Fibromyalgia.

There has been animal research confirming that the frequency to reduce inflammation reduces inflammation by 62% using mice. By comparison, prescription drugs reduce inflammation by 45% in the same mouse.

Who should not have micro-current?
  • A person with a spinal stimulator, unless it can be turned off during your session and with your physician approval.
  • An electrical implant such as a pacemaker.
  • Active infection
  • Cancer
  • Blood clots
How should I prepare for my micro-current visit?

Please note that you must be well-hydrated prior to your FSM treatment. A minimum of 2 quarts of water is required on the day of your treatment. FSM WILL NOT work if you are dehydrated. Older clients should be hydrated for 5-7 days prior to your FSM treatment for best results.

Unless you having a massage as part of your visit, please wear loose/comfortable clothing.

Published studies regarding micro-current includes the following information:

FSM was discovered by the American NFL in 2003. Bill Romanowski brought FSM to the Oakland Raiders with his chiropractor. Tony Parish and Terrell Owens were treated along with eight linemen from the San Francisco 49ers in August 2003 by Dr. McMakin. Now, NFL teams and athletes from other sports are using FSM in record numbers. The results are impressive and consistent. Chronic injuries clear up in record time. FSM can remodel scar tissue more quickly than manual manipulation.

Imagine how effective FSM can be for treating new injuries. Jeff Spencer treats the US Postal team on the Tour de France for new injuries. When Terrell Owens was injured in December 2004 and wanted to be able to play in the Super Bowl six weeks later, FSM was there when he got out of surgery and was a part of the team who made his amazing recovery and spectacular performance possible in Super Bowl 2005.

Everyone said that the injury needed 13 to 18 weeks to heal and remodel. FSM, Terrell and the treatment team did it in 6 weeks.

The National Qualification in FSM includes frequencies and protocols that are useful in all types of conditions including those particular to athletes.

What is the difference between microcurrent and a laser?

Microcurrent provides electrons and in published studies increase ATP (energy) production in cells. Laser provides photons and research does not suggest that laser treatments increase ATP production. Lasers oscillate at set frequencies and provide beneficial results. They are doing it by some other method than frequency specific resonance and ATP enhancement.

What is the difference between microcurrent and TENS?

Microcurrent is approved in the category of TENS devices determined by the U.S. FDA. TENS devices deliver micro-amperage current, and block pain messages that are trying to get up the spine to the brain. Microcurrent delivers micro-amperage current which has been shown in published studies, to increase ATP production in tissues.
